Christian Education
Bible Study
Join the Senior Pastor for this special time of study with topics
alternating between Old and New Testament studies. Classes are
held at 12 o'clock noon and 7 o'clock in the evening on Wednesday
of each week.
Sunday School
There is a Sunday School class for every age group from Kindergartners
to Adults. Classes begin at 9:30am each Sunday morning and culminate
with an intergenerational time of sharing.
Lay Organization
The Lay Organization serves to instill a love and appreciation
for the history, tradition and principles of African Methodism
within the church body.
Young People's Department
The Young People's Department provides a meaningful
youth training program in all areas of church life. This ministry
also helps to provide leadership opportunities for youth and children.

Music Ministries
The music ministry of Allen Temple provides instrumental and vocal
praises to God. We are sure that one of the following choirs is
just right for you:
Senior Adult Choir
Young Adult Choir
Male Chorus
Youth Choir
Stewardess Board
The main functions of the stewardesses are to assist in the preparation
of duties associated with baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Ushers
If you have the gift of hospitality then the Ushers ministry may
be the right one for you. Ushers are responsible for greeting
visitors and members with a smile, a hug, and the love of God.
Ushers also manage the decorum of the worship services each Sunday.
Women's Ministries
Women's Missionary Society
The W.M.S. exists to help women and youth grow in the knowledge
of God through mutual relationships. This ministry also fosters
missionary activities on both the local level and abroad.
Daughters of Allen
The Daughters of Allen provides an opportunity for women
to come together and perform services for the church. This ministry
has contributed to the overall upkeep of the church through the
purchase of carpet and hardwood floors in the sanctuary, outside
lighting and more.
L.T. Brown Ladies Improvement
Mrs. Lenthenia Terry Brown served the Allen Temple church
as a stewardess for many years and later served as president of
the Ladies Improvement Board for 33 years. After many years of
dedicated service, the Board was named after Mrs. Brown. The L.
T. Brown Ladies Improvement Board contributes to the church through
collaborative work with the Trustee Board for general upkeep of
the church property.
Men's Ministry
Sons of Allen
The Sons of Allen is a ministry where men gather together in fellowship
for the purpose encouraging one another, sharing life experiences
and helping other men develop a closer relationship with Christ.
Administrative Ministries
Finance Committee
Members of the Finance Committee are appointed by the Pastor and
serve as financial managers of all church resources.
Steward Board
Stewards are appointed by the Pastor and have the responsibility
of providing leadership in the area of spiritual and administrative
matters of the church.
Trustee Board
The official board of the church elects trustee Board members.
Their primary responsibility is to ensure the church property
is maintained.
